How can you play .FLAC file?

A: Find a player to suit as suggested or
B: Convert the file to another format.
The optimum formats to convert to are wav or mp3.

If your friend converted an original wav file (large) to flac (smaller). Converting back to .wav format will preserve the full quality of the file.
The Flac conversion algorithm preserves all the quality of the original.
Flac = Free Lossless Audio Codec.

Converting to mp3 (small file) there is audio information loss but by converting to 128 kbps or above you will be unlikely to detect a difference unless using high end reproduction equipment.

Flac - non lossy.
Mp3 - lossy.

In order for computer users to transact with confidence online, it has become increasingly important for them to protect personal and confidential data like their passwords, credit card numbers and account information. What are people doing to protect this valuable data?

This is a very broad question so I am going to give you what I think are a couple of the easiest most effective things you can do to protect yourself.

The #1 Rule is that you are the best anti-fraud and identity theft system you can buy. An educated user is far more effective than any software.

+THINK! Think twice before entering or submitting any information for any type of offer on-line. If it sounds to good to be true, especially if it is unsolicited it is likely to be a scam. Research any company before you submit information. A website alone is NOT proof a company is real. One example is the recent surge in scam sights targeting job seekers. Prospective employees who are more than willing to enter all of their personal information for an opportunity to get what sounds like a dream job.

+Absolutely do not use the same password for all your accounts. Almost everyone I know does this. This means that one compromised account compromises all of your accounts. Remembering all of those passwords could be a nightmare but there are solutions. Check out KeePass, it is an open source (translate to free and trustworthy) secure password storage solution that you can carry around with on an $8 memory stick from the little bin at the register in Staples.

+Secure your wireless home network. I say again, secure your wireless home network.

+Do not conduct ANY transactions with sensitive information open wireless networks unless you have implemented some sort of secondary security measure such as a secure tunnel through a trusted provider.

+Finally, keep your anti-virus software up to date.

There are many other more complicated things you can do but online security is like security in any other context. There are so many people that are completely unprotected that all you have to do is be a little more protected than the next guy. If your car has an alarm and his doesn't the thief will steal his first.

And DON'T be afraid of the internet. Your bills in the trash can were just as much of a security risk as your cache in your browser. Enjoy the convenience of the digital world but always be wary of predators looking to take advantage of naive newcomers.

What do you do to protect your computer from being infected by a virus, worm or spyware attack?

Internet threats and risks are prevalent in the online world. Viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, hackers and other malicious code can cause minor annoyances to large-scale damage on computer users' PCs or even their personal identity. How have online threats affected you and what steps do you take now to protect your systems?

Other people already suggested software utilities that you could download and install to help protect you. Instead I will list common sense tips that sometimes get overlooked:

1. Do not install software that you do not trust or did not intend to install in the first place.
Example: A while ago I downloaded and installed DIVX player software. During the installation process it prompted to install Gator. Gator was notorious as spyware.

2. Make sure you update your firewall, antivirus, and other software applications you use on your computer. Keeping up to date with the software available will make it harder for someone to compromise your system. This goes double for system updates such as Windows Update

3. Do not install P2P file sharing software at all. The power that P2P file sharing software gives is also it's biggest flaw. P2P software gives you the power to download music/movies from someone else's computer at the cost of letting people download music/movies off of your computer. Now who's to say that someone cannot alter a movie, let's call it "Spiderman 3 Full Movie", and mask that file so that it installs a keystroke recorder if you try to play the movie. Now let's take it further and say that the person that created this file also programmed it to automatically upload any passwords to his computer via the P2P file sharing software. You wouldn't even know that your passwords were being logged and uploaded off your computer everytime you started the P2P software.

4. Immediately delete email from people that you do not know.
Example: From time to time I receive email that looks like it comes from Bank of America telling me to login to online banking and check my status. I don't even have an online banking account with Bank of America.

5. If you must download and install software make sure it is from a reputable website.

6. Do not go to websites that you are unsure of or never heard of.
Example: http://www.google.com is ok to go to but I would avoid going to gogggggle.com, googgel.com, and googledot.com

7. Do not go click on those banners promising you a free Nintendo if you can kill the spiders.

8. Do not be afraid to virus scan your files once a week or even once a day. Most antivirus softwares allow you to set up your computer to be scanned automatically at anytime of the day. Pick a time that you know no one will be using the computer, such as 4am in the morning, then till it to scan your computer at that time.

9. Always back up your work in case something happens.

How can You import partially downloaded files from any download manager to BitComet or other manager

If you have several files you've started downloading in BitTorrent or any download manager but want to start using another download manager. Now the question is how can you import the files and resume downloading?

Here is an answer :

First check whether u have the torrent file (.torrent) of that downloading task. If you have it then its ok. If you don't have it, you have download the torrent file again. When you have the torrent file, first run bitcomet, then from the options tab select options, then select "Task". On the screen you'll see download menu. In the download menu there is "Default destination directory:". Click on the directory then click on "…."button on right. Set the directory to where you have downloaded incomplete files . Close bitcomet & open the torrent file with Bitcomet & click ok & Walla!!!!!!

Sometimes it is useful to the torrent files.

Creating torrents using bitcommet and sharing it

When you open bitcommet you'll notice a bar on the left side of the screen. There should be two tabs, one is bookmarks and another is channel. Click on the channel tab. A folder named "My sharing" would be visible. Double click on it. Then you'll see all of running downloads and completed downloads. There is a checkbox on the left side. Check it if tou want to share those files. In this box you can drag any folder or files for sharing. When you would drag a file in that window , a new screen will pop up which will ask you for location where you want to save your torrent file. Default location is where the real (the file you are going to share) file is located. Press ok to create the torrent file. You can also modify this torrent by modifying its properties like you can embed you name or a url to the torrent.

One Basic Tip For Megaupload And Rapidshare Download

No matter which web browser you use, there should be some options for showing cookies in your browser. In Firefox go to Option menu which you will find under the Tools tab. Then click show cookies. There you will find megaupload or rapidshare cookies if you have visited those sites before. These cookies keep tracks of your activity on their respective website. If you delete those cookies you will be able to visit those websites as a first time visitor (probably). This idea is useful when you are downloading files. If deleting only megaupload and rapidlibrary cookies doesn't work, try deleting all the cookies and browsing history.

Use download manager to download. If you are already downloading a file, pause that download and start a new download. I don't know whether parallel downloads are possible for megaupload and rapidshare files. Although you can try it preceding way. If they show that your IP is already downloading a file, even if you are not downloading, try changing your IP address or MAC address depending on your network connection. In rapidlibrary,tvfreeload websites you will find rapidshre links.
